Belleville (Belleville, Ontario) ? The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is pleased to announce the OHL Big Ticket Hockey Game- Belleville Bulls versus Owen Sound Attack on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 7:05 p.m. at the Yardman Arena.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run and OHL are proud to continue their partnership that will bring together the Belleville Bull's and local law Enforcement Agencies in a community effort that will raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics programs across Ontario.

Diane Roebuck, Kai Freeland, and Tim Maracle are three Quinte region athletes that will be competing in the Ontario Winter Games being hosted in Thunder Bay, Ontario from 20 to 23 January, 2011.

This community event will have law enforcement personnel passing a bucket to spectators for collection of monies that will go towards Special Olympics programs.

"The 17,000 Special Olympics athletes in Ontario are the ultimate recipients of the work of to make the Law Enforcement Torch Run a success? said Commissioner Chris Lewis, Chair of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run Executive Committee.

All funds that are raised through Torch Run events support community-based Special Olympics Ontario activities. It assists community programs with a variety of expenses including travel to games, accommodations, meals, staff support, grants to new community programs, athlete training, public education, volunteer/coach training and development initiatives like school programs.
