Belleville, Ontario: The Belleville Police Service released information regarding a sexual assault investigation that began on the 24th of May 2018. As a result of the media release there have been a number of tips received from the public. The Belleville Police Service would like to thank those members of the public for coming forward.
The Belleville Police Service is now able to release the name of the accused. Thomas Michael BOYLE 74 of the City of Belleville is charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Forcible Confinement and will continue his bail hearing on 28 May 2018.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: SEXUAL ASSAULT
Belleville Ontario: On the evening of 24 May 2018 the Belleville Police Service began an investigation into an sexual assault. The teenage female complainant advised that a male unknown to her offered her a ride from an east end location and subsequently drove to a secluded area in Thurlow Township where the male confined the girl and attempted to sexually assault her. The female was able to get away from the suspect and flag down a passing vehicle.
Police are disclosing photos of the vehicle involved in the alleged sexual assault. A 74 year old Belleville man has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and forcible confinement and will appear for a bail hearing on 25 May 2018. The males name cannot be released at this time.
