Belleville Police Service responded to 84 calls for service from the 13th of March 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 14th of March 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Sexual Offender Identified, Located and Arrested

Belleville, ON - The Belleville Police Service was seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male in a sexual assault investigation which took place on March 7th, 2020.

The unidentified male, who entered a business on North Front Street where he made sexual advances towards a female employee when they were alone in the store, has been identified, located and arrested. The male, whose name cannot be released at this time, has been charged with one count of Sexual Assault and will appear in court on the 2nd of April 2020 to face the charge.

Belleville No Frills Shoplifter Arrested Following a Foot Pursuit

Belleville, ON – On the 13th of March 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Police responded to No Frills on Bell Blvd. regarding a report of a shoplifter. During the arrest, an altercation ensued followed by a foot pursuit involving the No Frills Loss Prevention Officer and Police. In collaboration with No Frills Loss Prevention, Police caught and arrested the 31-year-old Belleville male. The male was arrested on 2 outstanding warrants and now faces new charges of Assault, Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.

Shoplifter Arrest

Belleville, ON – On the 13th of March 2020 at 10:30 p.m. Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a report of two female shoplifters. Police attended and conducted an investigation that revealed two females had attempted to steal $1000 worth of merchandise. Both Belleville females, 28-year-old Rebecca BAGNELL and 39-year-old Melissa MARANDOLA, were arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000. They were released by Police on scene, on an Appearance Notice. They were both given a court date of April 9th 2020 to face the charges.
