Belleville Police Service responded to 82 calls for service from the 14th of March 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 15th of March 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Shoplifter Arrested and Held for Bail

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 4:30 p.m. Police responded to a business on Dundas Street East regarding a female shoplifter. Police attended and conducted an investigation that revealed a female had attempted to steal $130 worth of merchandise. The 43-year-old Belleville female was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation. Further investigation revealed that the female was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Belleville Police Service. Upon searching the female incident to arrest, she was also found to be in possession of Crystal Meth, resulting in an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The female was transported to the Belleville Police Service where she is being held for bail.

Belleville No Frills Shoplifters Arrested

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 4:45 p.m. Police responded to No Frills regarding two females shoplifting. Police attended and their investigation revealed that two females attempted to steal $90 worth of merchandise before being caught by No Frills Loss Prevention Officers. The females were both charged by Police. The 59-year-old Belleville woman, Katherine NORRIS, was charged with Theft Under $5000 under the Criminal Code and released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of April 1st 2020 to face the charge. The 26-year-old Belleville woman was charged with Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premise under the Trespass to Property Act and she was release on a Provincial Offences Notice.

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Police responded to No Frills regarding a male shoplifter. Police attended and their investigation revealed that a 40-year-old Belleville male was in custody for theft after No Frills Loss Prevention Officers found him attempting to steal $20 worth of merchandise. Police charged the male with Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premise under the Trespass to Property Act and he was release on a Provincial Offences Notice.

Theft of Bicycle

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 3:30 p.m. Police responded to a residence on Dundas Street East regarding a report of a stolen Bicycle. An investigation revealed that sometime between the 12th and 14th of March 2020, a COLUMBIA 26” RAMBLER, Black frame, Brown seat and handles with Large thick tires was stolen from the property. Shoplifters Charged

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 4:15 p.m. Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a shoplifter. An investigation revealed that a 58-year-old Belleville female attempted to steal merchandise from the business. As a result, the female was charged with Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premise under the Trespass to Property Act and she was release on a Provincial Offences Notice.

Belleville, ON – On the 14th of March 2020 at 8:30 p.m. Police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a male and female shoplifter. An investigation revealed that both parties attempted to steal $80 worth of merchandise. As a result of the investigation, Police charged 18-year old McKayla BURKETT of Marmora and a 17-year-old male, whose name cannot be released as he is a young offender, from Marmora with Theft Under $5000. Both were released on an Appearance Notice and given a Court date of April 14th 2020 to face the charges.
