Motor Vehicle Collision
On May 15th 2021 at 3:30 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Pinnacle Street and Moira Street. The involved drivers reported minor injuries and the vehicles were not driveable. As a result of the investigation, one of the drivers, a 48-year-old Belleville resident was charged with red light fail to stop contrary to section 144(18) of the Highway Traffic Act.
On May15th 2021 at 10:15 p.m. Belleville Police were called to a north end neighbourhood regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and located a heavily intoxicated female, who was the cause of the disturbance. As a result, the 56-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor License Act. She was held until she was deemed to be sober enough to be released.
On May 16th at 2:00 a.m., Belleville Police were sent to a West end housing complex regarding a male wanted on warrants who was believed to be inside a residence. Officers had attended the same address earlier in the evening but were unable to locate the male. The 47-year-old Colborne resident was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant which had been issued on the 28th of April 2021. The warrant was for outstanding charges for mischief contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code, two counts of failing to comply with a release order contrary to section 145(5)(a) and one count of failing to comply with a probation order contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code. Due to the domestic nature of the charges the name of the accused will not be released to protect the victim.
