Serious Injury Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario- On the 20th of May 2017 at approximately 1:50Am Belleville Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Moira Street West and Yeomans Street. The investigation revealed that one vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the other vehicle resulting in one of the vehicles striking a nearby house. Six people were transported to Quinte Health Care by ambulance with serious injuries. One of persons was transported to Kingston with serious neck and spinal injuries. A female was arrested at the scene for impaired operation and transported to the station for breath tests. Tests confirmed she was over the legal limit of 80 milligrams. A 19yr old female from Belleville is charged with six counts of impaired operation cause bodily harm and six counts of operating while of 80 milligrams cause bodily harm. She was released on a promise to appear with a June court date.  Belleville Police were assisted by members of the Ontario Provincial Police with the investigation.
