Drug arrests and charges

 

On Saturday the 20th of May 2017 at 1:50 p.m. members of the Belleville Police Service Intelligence and Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Team executed search warrants at a hotel in the City of Belleville.

Located within the room were a 32 year old female from Belleville and a 33 year old male from Prince Edward County.

As a result of the search warrants police located and seized cocaine, heroin, cannabis and a quantity of cash.

Both persons were charged jointly with the following offences:

1.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I – Cocaine 5(2) CDSA

2.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I – Heroin 5(2) CDSA

3.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule II – Cannabis 5(2) CDSA

4.     Possession of Property obtained by Crime – 354(1) (a) C.C.

The 32 year old woman was additionally charged with three counts of breach of a Bail Recognizance.

Both accused persons are being held in custody until a bail hearing on Tuesday 23 May 2017 in Belleville Court.
