The Belleville Police Service responded to 72 calls from May 24th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to May 25th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Break and Enter

Belleville ON - On May 24, 2021 at 2:13 pm Police responded to a call regarding a break and enter that occurred over the Victoria Day weekend, in a west end city apartment.  Further investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) made entry and took the apartment owners hunting/fishing licence.  Suspects also made off with gaming devices and hand tools.  Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Constable Crawford at 613-966-0882 X4228, or through email at acrawford@police.belleville.on.ca or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477

Weapons/Assault

Belleville ONOn the 24th of May 2021 at 10:15 pm Police were called to an east end condominium complex regarding a disturbance.  Officer arrived and spoke with the victim who advised that two young males started yelling and screaming at him for no apparent reason.  The two youths then punched and kicked the victim several times however he was able to escape with out injury from the unprovoked assault.  A short time later a 37-year-old male appeared on the victim’s front door and confronted him with an edged weapon and then threaten him.  Officers were able to locate a 37-year-old male a 13-year-old male and a 14-year-old male and arrest and charge them with the following charges:

37-year-old male: Assault with a weapon, Uttering a Death Threat, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Resist Peace Officer.

13-year-old male: Assault

14-year-old male: Assault and Uttering a Death Threat.

The 37-year-old male was released on Undertaking and issued a court date for July 8th, 2021.  The male youths were released on a Youth Criminal Justice Act Undertaking with a court date of July 6th, 2021 and released to the care of their parents.
