The Belleville Police responded to 69 calls for service between 5:00 a.m. on the 30th of October 2021 and 5:00 a.m. on the 31st of October 2021.

Impaired and Mischief

Belleville ON-On Saturday the 30th of October 2021 at 830 a.m. Belleville Police were contacted after a male who had caused domestic mischief to a residence the previous evening and fled, had since returned and was unwanted.  A responding officer located the male’s vehicle on a nearby road and preformed a vehicle stop in the east end of the city.  The male was found to be heavily intoxicated and was arrested.  The driver was found to have over three times the legal limit of alcohol in his body.  The 27-year-old male from Amherstview was charged with domestic mischief contrary to section 430(4) and Operating a motor vehicle while impaired contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.  He was released with a November 22nd court date.  Due to the domestic nature of the incident, no names will be released.

Weapons, Breach, Threats and Resist Charges

Belleville ON-On the 30th of October 2021 at 1045 p.m., Belleville Police were sent to a west end apartment regarding a loud domestic argument in progress.  Officers arrived on scene and based on their observations were forced to make entry to the unit.  The male occupant became combative and had to be tasered.  The male continued to resist and also made death threats to the officers.  A number of weapons were also located in apartment.  As a result of the investigation the 37-year-old Belleville resident is being charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon contrary to section 92(2), 2 counts of breaching a weapons prohibition order contrary to section 117.01(1), two counts of breach of probation contrary to section 733.1, resisting a peace officer contrary to section 129(a), uttering threats to cause death contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) and possession of a imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada.  The male is being held for a bail hearing on the 31st of October 2021.  Due to the domestic nature of the incident, no names will be released.
