The Belleville Police Service is accepting applications for the civilian position of part-time dispatcher. The position is responsible for taking routine and emergency calls from the public, members of the Belleville Police Service and other agencies and to dispatch police officers as required.
Excellent communication skills both spoken and written, above average knowledge of and the ability to use computer equipment, including accurate keyboarding skills, the ability to work well with others and as part of a team, the ability to represent the organization in a professional, courteous manner and the ability to organize and plan are essential requirements of this position. The position requirements include working a schedule of rotating shifts, including weekends, statutory holidays, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Actual part-time hours of work are limited to a maximum of 24 hours per week as set out in the Civilian Working Agreement. The salary range is $26.56 to $30.78 per hour.
