Prescription Drop Off – May 11,  2013 (RESULTS)

The Belleville Police Service participated with Services across the Province in a "Prescription Drug Drop Off Day” on May 11th, 2013. Citizens took advantage of this opportunity in great numbers that yielded 27.5 lbs of pharmaceuticals – including narcotics such as Oxycodone, Hydromorphine, Tramadol, and Tylenol #3s being turned in.

The narcotics and non-narcotics collected such as lithium and nitroglycerine patches, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and unidentified medications dropped off will be disposed of.

"Prescription Drug Drop Off Day” encouraged community members throughout the Province to clean out their medicine cabinets and safely dispose of old or unused medications.

The Belleville Police Service, in partnership with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and Ontario Pharmacists' Association, wish to thank all who participated in order to make the event a success.
