Traffic complaints


Belleville, Ontario – On September 9th, 2018, at 5:16 p.m. police received a complaint of a speeder passing several cars unsafely on Hwy 37 south of Tweed. An officer set up on Hwy 37 at Phillipston Road with a radar and clocked the offending vehicle at 126 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver, a 29-year old Etobicoke man, received a provincial offence notice. The ticket carried a fine of $341.00.


On September 9th, 2018, at 7:18 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Bridge Street West regarding a suspected impaired driver. The driver, a 20-year old Napanee man was arrested for the offence of ‘over 80 mgs.’ Wesley Wendling will appear in court on September 27th, 2018. He was also charged with ‘novice driver – BAC level over zero’.



Distraction theft


Belleville, Ontario – On September 9th, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. a man was approached on Bell Blvd. by three people who offered to sell him jewelry. He paid $60.00 for the jewelry which was worthless. During this transaction the man also had a sum of money removed from his pants’ pocket. The suspects were described as being East Indian and in their early 30’s. There were two men and one woman. They were driving a newer model white Hyundai Elantra.



ATV theft


Belleville, Ontario – On September 9th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. police attended on Farnham Road regarding the theft of an ATV. It was described as a 2004 yellow Can Am Bombardier 400. It had an Ontario licence plate – 9FZ10. It was taken from the backyard sometime between September 7th-9th.
