Belleville Police Testing New Front Line Police Vehicle

Belleville, ON - Belleville Police wish to make the public aware they may see a new style police vehicle in the city for the next two weeks.

The Belleville Police Service front line officers will be testing a 2019 Dodge Durango Police Edition which is on loan at no cost to BPS from Dodge Canada. This vehicle will be out on general patrol giving officers the opportunity to test the vehicle and provide feedback to determine if the vehicle will meet the needs of the service.

The Belleville Police Service takes safety seriously and is always looking at options to make the fleet safer while ensuring that our service delivery model is effective and efficient. The goal of making “Belleville the safest community in Ontario,” includes initiatives such as this one to ensure we are in a position to meet the safety concerns of our community.

This Dodge Durango is a relatively new entry to the police vehicle market and this opportunity will give front line officers an opportunity to assess the vehicle to determine its suitability for our officers and our great city.

The vehicle will be in the city from the 18th of December to the 2nd of January 2019.
