UPDATE – Belleville Police Investigating Shooting

Belleville, ON - On the 3rd of September 2019 at approximately 1:40 am, the Belleville Police Service responded to the area of Frank St and Union St after learning that a man had been shot.  The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and is recovering in stable condition at Kingston General Hospital.  Despite police requests, the victim continues to be unwilling to fully cooperate in the investigation.

The shooting occurred outside of 35 Union St before the victim fled the scene on foot. The victim received assistance from a resident on Frank St.  The suspect also fled the scene in an unknown direction.  The suspect is described as a male of small stature, approximately 5’7”-5’9”, wearing all dark clothing and was unidentifiable.  Police believe this to be an isolated incident. 

The Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit are continuing the investigation and are seeking assistance from the public if they have information regarding this occurrence.

Original Release - Belleville Police Investigating Shooting

Belleville, ON – On the 3rd of September 2019 at approximately 1:50 am, police were called to the area of Frank and Union streets for a report of an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Belleville General Hospital and then transferred to Kingston General Hospital with Serious but non-life threatening injuries. Members of the Ontario Provincial Police K-9 unit attend to assist Belleville Police with a search for suspects with negative results. The investigation remains ongoing, and will be led by the Criminal Investigations Branch.
