Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 235 calls for service between 5:00 am on June 09, 2023 to 5:00 am on June 12, 2023.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On the 11th of June 2023, a resident on Forsyth Road woke up to learn that sometime over night unknown suspects had stolen their black 2022 Dodge Ram pick-up truck from their driveway. The truck has Ontario licence plates BP58755 attached.   Anyone with information regarding the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen truck are asked to contact Belleville Police or Crime Stoppers. 

 

Motorcycle Crash with Injuries

On the 11th of June 2023 at 6:30pm, Belleville Police and Paramedics attended the area of Blessington Road near Bronk Rd regarding a motorcycle accident.  Upon arrival police discovered that a 16-year-old male had been operating an off-road dirt bike when he struck a ditch and was ejected off the motorcycle.  The youth was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

 

Stolen bike recovered

On the 29th of May 2023, Belleville Police received a report of a stolen bike from the Belleville General Hospital parking lot. The bike was valued at approximately $10,000. On the 9th of June 2023 at 2:40pm, police received information that the bike was at a Bridge Street West address. Police followed-up on this information and were able to recover the bike.  As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Robert Palin of Belleville was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and failing to comply with a condition of his probation. He was released on an Undertaking with a July court date.

 

Theft of Perfume and Cologne

On the 9th of June 2023, Belleville Police received a call to a west end pharmacy regarding a theft. Police attended and spoke to staff who advised that on the 4th of June 2023, two suspects stole approximately $6000 worth of perfume and cologne. Staff did not discover the theft until later however were able to review store surveillance video and provided pictures of the suspects to police.  Anyone with information regarding the theft or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Mischief

On the 10th of June 2023 at 8:30pm, Belleville Police were called to a downtown business regarding a male who was observed smashing out a large window with a piece of cement.  Officers attended and were able to locate and arrest the male.  Investigation also revealed the male was breaching his Probation Order.  As a result, a 39-year-old Belleville resident was charged with Mischief over $5000 and failing to comply with a Probation Order.  He was held for a bail hearing. 

 

Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80

On the 11th of June 2023 at 2:50am, an officer on patrol conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Craig Street and North Front Street.  The driver was found to be a suspended driver and was breaching their Probation Order.  The officer detected alcohol from the driver and they failed a roadside test.  The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service where they provided two breath samples over 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.  As a result, 36-year-old Daniel Dignard of Brantford was charged with operation of a motor vehicle – over 80, failing to comply with a Probation Order and driving with no licence.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July 2023.
