Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 63 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 27, 2023 to 5:00 am on July 28, 2023.

 

Assault

On the 27th of July, 2023, at 6:05am, Belleville Police attended a Dundas Street West business regarding an assault. An employee at the business was assaulted by a male who then fled the area. The suspect, Dillon Armstrong, 36 years old of Belleville, was located a short time later and arrested. He was charged with one count of assault and one count of failing to comply with probation. He was later released with a court date in September 2023.  The victim did not sustain any physical injuries. 

 

Stunt Driving

On the 27th of July, 2023, at 7:55pm, officers were monitoring the speed of traffic in Thurlow Township. A vehicle was observed driving northbound on Sidney Street at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 146km/h in the 60km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the 21-year-old driver from Belleville was identified. The driver was charged with stunt driving and failing to notify his change of address. His licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.  He will appear in traffic court in September 2023.

 

Threats

On the 27th of July, 2023, at 8:00pm, Belleville Police were called to an apartment building on Sidney Street regarding a disturbance. On arrival, police were directed to a male who was threatening bodily harm to another male. The suspect, Terrell Ryan, 28 years old of Belleville was arrested for uttering threats. Police also learned that Ryan was bound by a peace bond to keep the peace with the victim. Ryan was charged with uttering threats and breach of a court order. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in August 2023.

 

Arrested on warrants

On the 27th of July, 2023, at 11:30pm, officers patrolling Front Street observed a female known to have outstanding warrants. Officers stopped the female and arrested her. Alisha Maille, 32 years old of Belleville was held in custody for a bail hearing for her charges of obstructing a peace officer, possession of counterfeit money and three counts of failing to comply with probation.
