Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 80 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on August 28, 2023 to 5:00 am on August 29, 2023.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On the 28th of August 2023 at 1:00pm, Belleville Police responded to an Old Highway 2 address regarding a stolen vehicle. Police were advised that between 9:30pm on the 27th of August and 12:00pm on the 28th of August, an unknown suspect stole a 2016 Ford XLT 4 door pick-up truck.  The truck is bright blue in colour and has the licence plate AM58870. Anyone who observes the vehicle or has information regarding the vehicle’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.

 

Breach of Release Order

On the 28th of August, 2023 at 9:00pm, Belleville Police were patrolling in the city’s east end when a male and female were observed riding bicycles in traffic without lights. Police stopped the pair and identified them. The female originally provided a false name; however, through investigation her identity was confirmed. The male, a 39-year-old Belleville resident was on conditions not to communicate with the female stemming from previous charges. As a result, the male was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.  He was held for a bail hearing.
