Public Intoxication

On the 9th of September 2023 at 3:13am, Belleville Police responded to a hotel on North Front Street regarding a fight between two adult females.  Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties.  One of the females was identified as the instigator in the altercation and was noted to be intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol.  As a result, the female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Belleville Police Service for her own safety.  She was later released when sober and issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the Liquor Licence Act. 

 

Intimate Partner Assault

On the 9th of September 2023 at 8:20pm, police attended an address in the city’s east end for reports of an intimate partner dispute in progress.  Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties.  After an investigation, it was determined that the female had bit the male during the dispute.  As a result, the 53-year-old female from Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of intimate partner assault.  She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October 2023.  The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim. 

 

Assault Police and Utter Death Threats

On the 10th of September 2023 at 10:30am, Belleville Police responded to a business on Bridge Street West with Paramedics regarding a male who was reported to be unconscious. 

Police identified the male as 55-year-old Phillip Larson of no fixed address.  While attempting to assist Larson, he became aggressive with responding personnel.  Larson spit in the face of an officer and threatened to cause death to the officer. 

As a result, Larson was arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer and uttering death threats.  Larson was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October 2023.     

 

Public Intoxication

On the 10th of September 2023 at 4:25pm, police received several calls regarding a male who was stumbling into traffic in the downtown area of Belleville.  A short time later, police received another call advising the male was now laying in the middle of the road. 

Police attended the area and located the male in question.  Officers determined that the male was heavily intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol and was unable to safely care for himself.  As a result, the 74-year-old male from Belleville was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he remained until sober.  The male was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for being intoxicated in a Public Place under the Liquor Licence Act. 

 

Arrested on Warrant

On the 10th of September 2023 at 6:20pm, police attended a business on North Front Street after an adult female customer had an interaction with store employees.  Police attended and learned that the female was wanted on warrants for break and enter and failing to attend court.   As a result, 40-year-old Amanda Hartwell of Belleville was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
