Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on September 20, 2023 to 5:00 am on September 21, 2023.

 

Theft of Wallet

On the 18th of September 2023 at 3:30 pm, officers attended a business on North Front Street regarding a theft. Police were advised by the complainant that he had dropped his wallet near the self-checkout at approximately 3:15 pm and when he returned, he could not locate it. Police reviewed video footage and observed a female picking up the wallet and concealing it in her bags. If anyone recognizes the female in the photo, they are asked to contact Sgt Kyle King at kking@bellevilleps.ca

 

 

Theft and Weapons

On the 20th of September 2023 at 5:00 pm, police responded to a business on Bell Blvd after receiving multiple calls for assistance regarding security officers attempting to take a male into custody for theft. During the arrest, the suspect pulled a knife on the security officers. Police arrived and took the suspect into custody without further incident.  There were no reported injuries.  A 40-year-old male of no fixed address was charged with robbery, weapons dangerous and breach of probation.  He was held for a bail hearing. 

 

Mischief, Indecent Act and Breach of Probation

On the 20th of September 2023 at 8:47 am, police were called to the area of Bridge Street and Church Street regarding a female who was throwing coffee at passing vehicles and removing her clothing in public. Upon arrival, police identified the female and learned that she was currently on probation.  As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 46-year-old female of no fixed address for mischief, indecent act and breach of probation. She was held for a bail hearing.
