Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on January 29, 2024 to 5:00 am on January 30, 2024.

 

Single Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 30th of January at 2:00am, Belleville Police and Paramedics responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Old Highway 2, west of Mitchell Rd.  Upon arrival by emergency services, it was discovered that the vehicle had entered the ditch, struck a hydro pole and rolled over.  No injuries were reported.  Old Highway 2 was closed for a short period of time while the vehicle was removed from the scene.  There were no charges resulting from this incident.

Belleville Police are reminding motorists that highway conditions can rapidly change this time of year and that drivers should expect icy conditions when the temperatures drop. 

 

Missing Persons – Located

On the 29th of January at 9:00am, Belleville Police received a call from a person advising that he and a friend were lost in the woods / swampy area east of Haig Rd and have been there for several hours.   

Belleville Police deployed Emergency Response Unit officers on foot and a thermal imaging drone from the air.

The males were located by the drone approximately 500 meters east of Haig Rd.  Officers were directed to their location.  The two men were cold but otherwise unhurt.

Paramedics assessed the men at the scene and transported them to hospital for precautionary measures.
