Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 230 calls for service between 5:00 am on February 9, 2024 to 5:00 am on February 12, 2024.

 

Mischief and Breach Probation

On the 9th of February at 5:30pm, police were called to an address in the downtown core for a report of mischief.  An unknown person had smashed a front window to the address and left the area. Police began an investigation which included speaking to the supervisor of the property and reviewing the downtown camera network.  The suspect was quickly identified as 48-year-old Mark Proctor of no fixed address. Police located Proctor a short time later.  He was arrested and charged with mischief and breaching his probation.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in March. 

 

Breach of Probation

On the 9th of February at 6:00pm, police responded to an open line 911 call from a residence in the city’s east end.  Upon arrival and after conducting an investigation, police located a 53-year old male from Belleville hiding in a closet.  The male was on probation with conditions not to attend the residence or have communication with the occupants at the residence.  As a result, the male was charged with two counts of breaching his probation.  He was held for a bail hearing.

 

Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief charges

On the 10th of February at 10:35pm, police responded to an apartment building in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance. Upon police arrival, numerous people were still screaming and fighting.  During their investigation, police learned that a 56-year-old female from Belleville had pulled a fire alarm, ripped a fire safety plan box off of the wall and then proceeded to throw it at one person and two vehicles. The same female also bit another person who was trying to restrain her. Subsequently, the 56-year-old female was arrested for Assault, Assault with Weapon and four counts of Mischief.  The female was transported to the Belleville General Hospital for a medical assessment. As the arrested female was required to remain at the hospital, a warrant has been issued for her arrest upon release from the Hospital.

 

Arrested on Warrant

On the 10th of February at 11:50pm, police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a suspicious person. A homeowner observed an unknown male in his back yard on the security camera. Police attended the residence and located 34-year-old Wilfred TRUSCOTT of Belleville in the back yard. TRUSCOTT, aside from trespassing, was also wanted on an arrest warrant on charges of Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2. TRUSCOTT was arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported to the Belleville Police Service. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in February.

 

Theft – Police looking to Identify suspect

On the 11th of February at 5:45pm, Belleville Police received a call regarding a theft at a business on Bell Blvd.  Police attended and spoke to employees who learned that the suspect stole a quantity of merchandise then fled the store. The male was described as tall, with a skinny build, black and white shoes, black pants and a black hoodie. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Cst.
